Elevator presents Isabell Heiss on September 11th, showcasing sculpture immersed in visuals and sound.
'Through Marrow and Bone' derives from the uncanny spaces where the lines between safety and danger are blurred — where mind and body become both shield and archive. At the centre is Durchdringend, an immersive video and sound installation that envelops the viewer in a resonant cavity of slow-burning visuals and low-frequency sound. Accompanying it are bone-like plaster sculptures, formed with the artist’s body— tactile impressions of absence and presence, soft pressure and holding.
Together, these works form a meditation on resilience, trauma, and the ways we forge refuge through sensation, memory, and the body itself.
